Clean Burning

After months of problems, the pellet boiler is burning properly at last, last night the flue cowl glowing white in the darkness.

Oops!

I was fitting plasterboard to the walls in the new utility room today.  While explaining to Hilary about the two way switches for the lights I turned round to point out the switch by the door,  there it was, gone.  Oops! I had to quickly lift the board and cut out a hole to reveal the switch box..... 

Another day, another lintel. ..

Yesterday was the day.  Time for the old wooden lintels to come out of this doorway front the new TV room into the sitting room, been putting it off for too long. The old lintel had been installed badly, not level and the wall above subsiding and loose so it was a ticklish sort of job, not my favourite, not knowing what it about to fall.  New lintels now in and time to breath again...

Pin Scaling

Hilary spent the afternoon working on her pet project, cleaning the stone wall in the new kitchen with a compressed air Pin Scaler.  Very noisy and dusty, the wall is looking wonderful now, with a little pointing to repair before painting with breathable paint.
